Black Beauty Space for women of Color

Wig it Out For The Summer

Since it is the summer getting my hair curled and keeping it up is not working out for me. Humidity is not a black woman’s friend at all. It seems like constant relaxers, braids or a weave is our only option to look fly everyday without having to break the bank by going to the salon every other week. I don’t know about you but micros and individuals get boring after a while.

I love to have different looks but I don’t have enough time or the money to go to the salon so I make my own wigs with a pack of weave, hair glue and wig caps that you buy from your local beauty supply store. I braid my hair, place the wig cap on my head and glue the weave tracks on the wig cap and create a style from there.

Weather you are making your own wigs ( which I will show you how to do in another article) or buying them I think they are the best solutions to the summer time hair sweat outs! Keeping the hair braided underneath is also the best way to keep your head cool under the wig and promote hair growth.
