Is your shampoo pH Balanced? Do you have dry hair?

A Healthy hair has a natural pH balance (potential of hydrogen) of 4.5 – 5.5. The pH balance measures the acid or alkaline levels of a solution. When hair becomes too alkaline, it can look damaged and dull.

Some things that can cause your hair to be dry and dull are thermal styling, coloring, relaxing, and bleaching. In order to fix this problem, you must find a low pH shampoo and moisturizing products with a pH around 3.0-3.5. This will give your hair relief of a dry spell, and give your tresses back your luster, sheen, and bounce.

The pH scale ranges from 0-14:

Acid 0-6.9 (coffee, lemon juice)
Neutral 7 (pure water)
Alkaline 7.1-14 (toothpaste, baking soda)
