People will tell me that my hair does not need to be washed because it looks good, nice, etc. because I have been able to maintain my hairstyle. However, it does not matter to me if my hair looks good if my scalp is not clean!!!! I wash my hair and scalp at least twice a week in the colder months, and at least every other day in the warmer months because I HATE a dirty scalp. I visit the salon for relaxer application, cut/trim, and color. Unfortunately, some women believe that hair is supposed to be washed "every two weeks" because that is usually when they have money or receive a paycheck. I also believe some women do not wash their hair as often as they should because they have allowed a stylist (or someone else) tell them it is unhealthy to do so in an attempt to keep women from washing their hair between salon visits.
